Back in December 2004. Paul and I paddled our first white water river. A few weeks later we returned and were taken down the legendary Upper Dart. We were given homework the night before which we pretended to do while emptying as many Guiness cans as we could find. Before we launched were were given a stern talking to. These were the rules:

  1. We’d try and get to the end
  2. We’d try and have fun
  3. If we didn’t have fun, or get to the end, but at least 1 of us was still alive, it would have been a success
